(Jul 15, 2008) I graduated from UL in 1967 with a BS in Psychology and Sociology and later completed a Masters in Education. After graduation I did psychological testing for a private firm and taught Special Education at Newberg Elementary for 4 years. I then went to the Central Office as part of a Regional Diagnostic Team. I did testing and placement of students K-12, working with parents, teachers, counselors, and principals for the next 23 years.

In 1972, I married James Rowe and we divorced 32 years later.

After retiring in 1997 from JCPS, I learned to play the piano and the bagpipe. I took oil painting and basket weaving classes. Five years ago I adopted a 4 month old Border Collie mix from a shelter and we have been volunteering together at the Episcopal Church Home and Jefferson Place ever since. I enjoy music, cross-stitch, art, reading and travel…BUT I would rather be on the golf course!

(Jul, 2013) My border collie mix (now 10 years old) and I are still visiting the same nursing homes but have added the Masonic Home to our list.

In April 2013, I participated in Mayor Greg Fischer's "Give A Day" by working at St. Joseph's Children's Home with 11 others from various businesses in the community. It was a long and tiring day, but very rewarding.

I have continued with classes at UofL learning Tai Chi and playing the Mandolin.

My interest in cars (you may remember me driving a 1950 green Willy's Jeepster convertible in high school) has led to recently selling my 1974 red, chrome bumper MGB and purchasing a 1995 green E320 Mercedes convertible.

I am still playing bridge, having dinner once a month with two different groups, traveling in the USA, meeting new people, and enjoying friends and family.
