I was on the marriage track so after graduation I attended business college, went to work and moved to Chicago while my husband attended optometry school. It was there that our first child was born. We later moved to Flint, Michigan then back to Louisville in 1971 when my husband opened his optometry practice
After our
second child was born, I did the stay-at-home mom thing, attending Bellarmine
College and U of L part-time and doing volunteer work in my free time. It was
my volunteer work with Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) Project that
led to a staff position and eventually my role as executive director of CASA. I
remained with them until retiring in 2004.
Now, I do contract work for the
National CASA Association, and currently own a jewelry gallery called Sterling
Silhouettes. My husband is still in practice. We love spending time with our
grandchildren. Reading and traveling anywhere there is water nearby is also a
favorite pastime.
