After
medical school graduation in 1970, I completed my internship and residency at Baylor
College of Medicine in Houston, TX. But most important I met and married
Glenda, a native Houstonian.
One
month after the wedding, we moved east for a one year fellowship at the
Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
The
next 2 years I became a Major in the Army where my official title was Chief of
Anesthesia and Operating Room Services at Ft. Knox, Kentucky. The reality . . .
close to home and no gun fire.
My first real job was in Kansas City, Mo. New job, new home, new city, new baby boy made for a touch transition. Two years later with the birth of our daughter, I accepted a job in Houston, TX to be near Glenda’s family. Twenty-nine years later I am still at the Methodist Hospital.
Glenda
and I celebrated our 35th wedding anniversary on April. May ’08 we had our
first grandchild. I probably spend too much time at work. In my free time I
like to play golf, swim or play bridge. I am looking forward to the reunion.
