After graduation I attended Virginia Tech and played football for five years. Following a shortened military career at Ft. Sill, OK, I began coaching at Flaget in Louisville in 1968 and later at Seneca for a year. I sold Life Insurance before returning to coaching at Somerset High School, KY for three years; Applin Co. HS, Baxley, GA 3 yrs; Worth Co. HS, Sylvester, GA 15 yrs; Lowndes HS, Valdosta, GA 10 yrs. We were fortunate to have great kids and coaches and a couple of state championships along the way.

I retired from coaching seven years ago and began a new career as a Sales Rep for a football field equipment company.

I married Donna Teasley from Washington, GA in 1971 and we have a daughter, Traci Cothran who lives in Gainesville, FL (35) and a son, Matt Miller, living in Newnan,GA (32). Donna and I have two grandsons ages 3 and 1.
