After graduating from Indiana University in 1967 with a degree in Home Economics Education, I went to the University of Illinois where I received a M.S. in Housing and met my husband, Jim Goss.
We moved in D.C. where I taught at the oldest black high school in the U.S. and he attended Georgetown Law School with Jerry Abramson. We then settled in Grosse Pointe, MI. I eventually became a Legal Assistant and worked on the defense of very large lawsuits.
Tiring of the law, I returned to education as a Foods and Nutrition teacher in Detroit. Recently I was bumped and became a special ed teacher. As required by this position, I had to reenter school and am currently entitled to a 75% tuition waiver due to my age.
We
have two married daughters who live on the east coast.
