I graduated from UL in 1967 with a BS in Psychology and Sociology and later completed a Masters in Education. After graduation I did psychological testing for a private firm and taught Special Education at Newberg Elementary for 4 years. I then went to the Central Office as part of a Regional Diagnostic Team. I did testing and placement of students K-12, working with parents, teachers, counselors, and principals for the next 23 years.
In 1972, I married James Rowe and we divorced 32 years later.
After
retiring in 1997 from JCPS, I learned to play the piano and the bagpipe. I took
oil painting and basket weaving classes. Five years ago I adopted a 4 month old
Border Collie mix from a shelter and we have been volunteering together at the
Episcopal Church Home and Jefferson Place ever since. I enjoy music, cross-stitch,
art, reading and travel…BUT I would rather be on the golf course!
